Maria graduated from the Elite graduate program of Biomedical Neuroscience from the Technical University of Munich in Germany (2019-2021). During this time, she completed her master’s thesis at the Attardo lab in Max-Planck Institute for Psychiatry in Munich. Her project focused on understanding the circuit-level mechanisms underlying hippocampal memory formation and consolidation, in particular, the functional connectivity between CA1 and CA3 hippocampal regions.

To pursue her growing curiosity to understand learning during development, Maria joined the Brain & Sound lab as a Ph.D. student in November 2021.’
